From the artist about Prague Charles Bridge in Fog:
One favorite place in Prague is the Charles Bridge. When Prague Charles Bridge is covered in fog, it is otherworldly. Built in the 1300s, Charles Bridge has served Kings and travelers for centuries, connecting the majestic Prague Castle as the historic coronation route from Prague’s Old Town across the Vltava River. The stones and statues speak of the history the bridge has witnessed – and the photograph captures the mystery Prague is known for. It is iconic.
For a few years, the photographer worked on capturing this photograph – and one early autumn morning, the fog and rising sun and travelers crossing the bridge led to Prague Charles Bridge in Fog.
When travelers visit Prague, they make sure to spend a few moments on the Charles Bridge. Charles Bridge is a medieval stone bridge crossing the Vltava River – it is significant not only because it was constructed in the late 1300s and was part of the royal coronation route from Old Town Square to the Prague Castle, but also because of the events it has stood through. Prague is one of the only European cities not to have been destroyed in a war. Its beauty is intact. To stand on Charles Bridge is to feel history.
The Prague Charles Bridge in Fog photograph has been featured in museums, a book cover, and private collections worldwide.
